How will I know my team has secured a place in UKTC?

Step-by-step guide to make sure you don’t miss out

I released a blog on how to secure your place giving details about capacity, ticket price and a summary of the process you can expect if you’re looking to secure a UKTC team ticket when registration opens this Sunday 19 April at 10am (BST) / 11am (CET). It’s worth a re-read if you’re interested in attending the eleventh edition of UKTC.

However, since releasing the news for UKTC XI FOMO has kicked in! I’ve had a few coaches ask me for more detail on everything they need to be ready. More importantly, how will they know if they have secured a place.

TL:DR a team’s place will only be confirmed once I’ve received a Captain’s Registration form and payment for the team’s Registration fee of £260.

Some of the best teams in the UK and across Europe are expected to be making an appearance at UKTC XI
Some of the best teams in the UK and across Europe are expected to be making an appearance at UKTC XI

Here is a quick primer of the steps that captains can expect to see on Sunday as it unfolds:

Step 1: It all starts with the Captain filling in the registration form

Registration will open Sunday morning and Captains will need to take the first step of completing the registration form that will be hosted on uktcbloodbowl.com/register

At this point the details a Captain needs to have are light touch. You’ll need to hand:

  • Email

  • Name of the Team (this can be changed later if you’re not feeling creative!)

  • Name of the Captain

  • NAF Name

  • Mobile number

… and that’s it!

Step 2: As TO I’ll be populating the Coach Registration form

Capacity for the tournament is fixed at sixty-four teams. When registration opens at 10am based on my experience with Home Nations and UKTC’s long-standing position in the tournament year I expect places will fill out very quickly initially. It may or may not reach capacity on Sunday morning.

At this point you’ll understandably be eager to know whether you’ve got a space or not - the worry is completely understood - but you’ll need to give me some time.

What I will be doing in these first few moments is compiling the list of teams registered in order, taking the Team Name and populating the Coach Registration Form. If we reach capacity I’ll close the registration form and start a waiting list if there is overspill. So if you get to the form and see that it’s closed on Sunday morning it means we’ve hit or gone over capacity and you’ve missed the boat.

Step 3: Invitation by email for Captains to pay registration fee

Once I’ve managed to populate the Coach Registration Form (as fast as I can) with the Team Names I will email the Captains with two things:

  1. Details to pay your registration fee by Paypal using Friends and Family

  2. The Coach Registration Form for all coaches on the team, including the Captain to complete

Upon receiving the email inviting the Captain to pay the registration fee they will then have seven days to make this payment. If they don’t pay within seven days I will release their place to the first team on the reserve list.

Once the registration fee is paid this is what will confirm a team’s place in the tournament!

Alongside the invitation to register with payment Captains will receive the Coach Registration form that every one on the team needs to complete for things like dietary requirements. There is no immediate deadline for this, but the sooner you can do this the less admin I will have with the inevitable chase from those who don’t.

Step 4: Publishing the initial team list

Having done the initial admin to enable me to send out the invitation to Captains to finalise registration I will then publish the preliminary list of teams who’ve filled the spots. This will be across multiple channels including this website, Talk Fantasy Football, UKTC Discord and Facebook.

This list is preliminary and will be confirmed as and when registration is received. For those that don’t take up their invite to register I’ll pass the place down the reserve list.

So there you are, that’s how Sunday morning will look - initially it's going to be frenetic and you’re going to want confirmation that your team is in UKTC. However I’d ask you to bear with me as I process all the teams registering.

Get the date in the diary. Rally the Squad. We’ll see you in Manchester.
